Scott Willet,  born in  October 1960,  came to Covenant Community  Church (now known as Staunton OPC) in  October 1999  with over twelve years of pastoral experience. Scott served for more than nine years as the pastor of the Bible Presbyterian Church of  Concord,   North Carolina,   a   congregation  of  the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). After graduating Magna Cum Laude in  1987 from Covenant  Theological Seminary in St. Louis, his first three years in  the ministry were  spent as the pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian  Church (PCA) in Vincennes, Indiana.  Further experience includes a fourteen-month internship as a prison chaplain at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. He is a 1982 Civil Engineering graduate of Virginia Tech.  

Originally  ordained  in  the  PCA  in  1987,  Scott  was received  by the  Presbytery  of the  Mid-Atlantic  of the Orthodox  Presbyterian  Church  (OPC) in  October  of 1999, in order to accept the call to Covenant Community. Prior to that time, Covenant Community had remained an independent congregation, and was received as a separate congregation  in the  OPC along  with her  new  pastor in October 1999. 

Scott was married in 1987, and the Lord has blessed him and his wife Sharon with three daughters.

Scott is committed  to biblical,  expositional preaching,  working chapter by chapter through a particular book of the Bible. His sermons  are characterized  by a satisfying  depth of content,  faithful explanation,  and personal  application. God has made him a gifted teacher with a pastor's heart.
